Mr Dominic Preston
I'm a recent graduate with both a BA and an MPhil in Philosophy from Cambridge University. I've taken A Levels in English, Mathematics, and History as well, and am very comfortable teaching all these subjects.
Tutoring experience
I have tutoring experience at both A-Level and University level, in addition to experience with small group teaching at Cambridge University, where I taught first year undergraduates in classes of 10. At the other end of the spectrum, I have an 11 year old sister and am very used to helping her out with homework, and know the challenges involved in teaching young kids too.
Approach to tutoring
I place a big focus on being friendly and approachable to students, to help make sure they feel relaxed, which I believe is very important for effective leaning. I like to make sure I understand where they are finding things challenging, and why, but also where they are succeeding, to build confidence by emphasising achievements as well as areas for improvement.
