Mr Andrew Bryant
I have worked most of my career with young people. Although I started my employment as a Progress performance Engineer I progressed to university before continuing onto a PGCE in Primary Education. I was awarded a number of roles, including subject coordinator for five curriculum areas, head of KS2 and assistant headteacher.
Tutoring experience
I am an experienced teacher, qualified for 22+ years. I hold a PGCE and BA(Hons). I taught years 4, 5 and 6 but also have significant experience working with both younger children and teenagers. I also have experience teaching adults and welcome opportunities to support adults working through foundation maths studies.
Approach to tutoring
My approach to one to one tutoring is similar to my class teaching. I believe in a friendly approach that focuses on the identified needs of each individual pupil. I am a firm believer in consolidation but do not believe that any pupil should be held back in their learning simply because of their age. Maths does not have to follow a rigid order as prescribed by some schools and curricula simply because of a pupil's age. Everybody learns at a different pace and constant discovery is what nurtures a love of mathematics.
