16+ experience in many different teaching environments, both in State and Independent sectors. I am passionate about teaching and helping every child realise their potential. Through positive reinforcement and teaching of a solid understanding of the basics of English and Maths, up to a joy and ownership of their learning. My goal and the student's goal, become one and the same.
Tutoring experience
I have taught across all year groups in KS2. I have taught in rural and city schools, Independent Prep and Grammar schools, both in the UK and Europe. I have a Bachelor's with Honours in English. I have taught SEN and EAL children. I have taught small focus groups and 1:1 tuition, as well as being a class teacher.
Approach to tutoring
For tutoring purposes, the approach is always individual, focussing on an Individual Learning Plan to suit the child. Friendliness and approachability to make a child feel safe and confident during their learning, safe enough to make mistakes, and learn through them. Keeping the lessons varied, fun and interactive, so that the child looks forward to their sessions.
