Mrs Vanessa Brooks
Hello My name is Vanessa Brooks and I own The Little Place of Learning based in Shepshed Leicestershire. I have been in Education as a teacher, Deputy Headteacher and SENDCo for 27 years and I started my tuition business in April 2020. We also run preschool sessions during school hours in a range of subject areas. The centre is a relaxed, bright, colourful place that our students enjoy visiting and we have excellent reviews on our Facebook page which confirm this. We use a practical hands on approach using games and resources rather than computer programmes or worksheets. Again this can be seen on our Facebook page. I Employ a range of specialists to support our centre and they all offer excellent first class tuition.
Tutoring experience
I have been a teacher, deputy headteacher and SENDCo for 27 years and until recently was working in this role in a local Primary school. I hold a B.Ed Hons degree and the PGCE National award for SENDCo. I am DSL trained and hold up to date safeguarding, First Aid, Covid safe and Fire Marshall certification. I have always been a passionate supporter of children with SEND and have a wealth of experience in this area. I have relevant training in supporting a range of needs including up to Level 3 Autism training.
Approach to tutoring
At the centre we use a fun and hands on approach to learning. We design personalised programmes for each individual child and can offer both one to one and small group tutoring. Our children enjoy coming to the centre and we inspire them to want to learn. We are experts at building self confidence and equipping children to become lifelong learners.
