I am a retired mathematician with very good qualifications and now tutor the subject i love.
Tutoring experience
Started tutoring in 2020, initially face-to-face, but now online.
Approach to tutoring
Guided by student as to what aspects to cover.
Otherwise focusing on weaker areas.
Prefer to explain concepts and methods in a session, set some work to be done between sessions, and work through problem areas in next session.
I like to provide help if necessary, and marking between sessions to make the process more interactive.
I am very patient.
With online-tutoring, i currently favour zoom with shared desktop and remote control, allowing student & tutor to work together. I favour using a shared googledoc for homework.
