Mrs Caroline Wells
Hello, I'm Caroline. I have been tutoring professionally for the past two years while continuing to teach in school part time. I have tutored Maths students at primary, lower secondary and foundation GCSE level and have prepared students for their 11+ and common entrance exams. I have taught GCSE and A Level Religious Studies and Philosophy. I am an external examiner for A Level Philosophy.
I started tutoring by helping my children`s school friends pass GCSE Maths and had a 100% success rate with them all gaining the required grades to enter the sixth form or their chosen training course.
Tutoring experience
I have worked in `outstanding` comprehensive and selective state and independent schools for over 25 years as a classroom teacher, head of department and Special Needs Coordinator. I have been through the UPS3 threshold as an effective teacher.
Approach to tutoring
I specialise in helping students who lack confidence or who have missed out part of their Maths education. My approach is to re-establish basics, spending as much time as necessary on each stage, before progressing to the next. I like to use real life examples and to encourage understanding and problem solving. I strongly believe that anyone can `do Maths`.
