I`ve been a Geography examiner for over 5 years, tutor for over 20 years from 13plus through to A Level. I graduated from Hull University with BSc Geography (Hons) and began my teaching career in Reading, and progressed to Head of Department and Deputy Head during my school career. I have taught in a range of schools and across all abilities and currently I teach for an online school as well as running my own company. I enjoy both physical and human geography and I make lessons interesting and relevant to the exam specification.
Tutoring experience
Geography teacher since 2000, Head of Department and Deputy Head. Worked as an A Level examiner for 8 years, and am a team Leader for marking Paper 1. Have tutored successfully for over 20 years at 13 plus, GCSE and A Level, and I am familiar with all specs including International. Past students have improved their performance considerably after tuition and have secured places at Winchester College, City of London School and Haberdashers.
Approach to tutoring
I make my lessons interactive and fun but with a clear purpose. There are no silly questions, the aim is to foster an enjoyment of the subject so that learning takes place.
